Ergonomic Tool Drives Injury Reduction and Safety Culture at PSC

Safety Innovation Summary:
To proactively reduce ergonomic injuries, which accounted for over 40% of total recordables, PSC adopted TuMeke, an AI-powered ergonomic assessment tool. This innovative system uses real-time video analysis to evaluate body positioning and movements, identifying high-risk postures and providing science-based recommendations. TuMeke enables visibility into physical stressors that traditional assessments often miss, supporting PSC’s 360-Degree Health value by embedding safety into daily decision-making.

Implementation and Impact:
The safety team partnered with TuMeke to record and assess over 300 team members across various roles. Data insights were used to assign task risk scores and identify root causes of strain. Based on the findings, PSC implemented targeted solutions including ergonomic training, lift-assist devices, stripping tools, and adjustable workstations. TuMeke data is now integrated into regular safety coaching to reinforce safe movement habits. Since launch, PSC has achieved a 25% reduction in ergonomic-related strain injuries, while also boosting employee engagement and ownership in safety, solidifying a culture of continuous improvement.
